Energy consultants play a “huge role” in the energy industry, helping customers get a fair deal.
That’s the view of Mike Chessum, Sales Director, Energy & Services at British Gas Business, who spoke to ELN at The Energy Live Consultancy Awards (TELCA).
The event, which attracted nearly 600 people, celebrated the best of the best TPIs and energy consultants in the sector.
Mr Chessum said it’s exiting to see “a lot of young people, a lot of energy coming into the business”.
He added: “Having so many young companies and young people is really exciting. It might give a bit of disruption to the industry and push things foward a bit.
“The last couple of years our reputation, certainly amongst brokers hasn’t been great. We implemented a new system that took a while to bed in and I think there’s always been a question mark in brokers whether we’re really, really serious in the TPI market to actually invest and say to these guys ‘we need you, you need us hopefully, we need to support each other so we can all grow’.”
