British Gas Business has launched a new energy management tool to help businesses reduce costs.
Dubbed ‘Panoramic Power’, it aims to brings transparency and visibility to energy usage with real time measurement of individual electronic devices and machinery.
Combined with cloud-based analytics, the system has been designed to help customers understand and take control of their energy, save money and drive operational performance.
According to Gab Barbaro, MD of Centrica’s UK Business division, the solution can help firms and other large energy users, such as the energy intensive industry, take control of their power by allowing them to operate, monitor and optimise their assets.
He said: “Between them, British businesses are currently spending around £20 billion a year on energy. I believe that in future we could help them bring that down by 10 to 20% through distributed energy solutions.
“With Panoramic Power we’re offering energy intensive users real insights to help them bring down their energy usage. More fundamentally though, we can use it to help businesses make decisions about where distributed energy technologies can be of most use to them and to their bottom line.”
The Big Six supplier says it can also be applied across a variety of sectors, from schools and hospitals to data centres and manufacturing plants.
Panoramic Power has rolled out 35,000 sensors in 30 countries, bringing energy insights to customers across 1,000 sites.
Mr Barbaro will be speaking at the Energy Live 2016 conference along with two other Big Six bosses in addition to a great line-up of other speakers. Limited free tickets are available for energy end users.
